REBECCA GIBIAN - DIRECTOR

RESUME

BIO:

Rebecca Gibian is a bilingual director, actor, associate artist at Centaur Theatre and artistic director of Persephone Productions. A graduate of the National Theatre School’s acting program, she has worked as both an actor and director with companies such as the Shaw Festival, Neptune Theatre, Drayton Entertainment, Repercussion Theatre, Talisman Theatre, and the Centaur Theatre. Drawn to work that reimages and challenges the possibilities of theatre on both formal and thematic scopes, Rebecca is excited to continue creating room at the table for new voices, bold ideas, and untapped potential—a value that has always been a driving force in her work.

Recent directing credits include The Importance of Being Earnest, Repercussion/Persephone Productions; How to Survive in the Wild at the Segal Center produced by Persephone Productions; The Flick at Centaur produced by Persephone Productions; meta-nominated Pool No Water at the Segal Studio, Persephone Productions; All Shall Be Well, Repercussion Theatre; Indecent, Studio 180 (assistant director). She was awarded the 2020 RBC Emerging Director Prize through Studio 180. She also runs Centaur’s annual WinterWorks Festival, dedicated to boundary-pushing performance premieres.
